Vaccinated and Dead - Who's to Blame? The Unvaccinated.
I must stop reading the New York Times. It has been relentless in its non-stop scapegoating of the unvaccinated. Every week or so an opinion piece appears from some ingenue or ingenu ER doctor blaming the unvaccinated for the Covid plague. All the doctors are young and pleasant looking just like the pharmaceutical salespeople. This week it was Daniela Lamas a critical care doctor in Boston. Every one of these articles is written in a similar fashion with the honeyed tones of concern for the sick while scapegoating the unvaccinated for everything wrong with healthcare today.
Then, of course, there is the comments section (highly censored) which gives anyone who is vaccinated a forum to give voice to their personal grievances against the un-vaccinated and to relieve the building pressure that something is not quite right with the vaccines.
Today I find this sad comment from a subscriber
… My son in law lost his vaccinated father to Covid in late September. He was just few days short of getting his booster when he developed a break thru case. He desperately needed mono-clonal antibodies but could not get them. Instead, he died on a waiting list because the UNVACCINATED were being given priority for these treatments. So much for sympathy for the unvaccinated.
I don’t even know where to begin to address this comment. First, from personal experience I know grief has no bounds and sometimes the grieving look for an outlet to find blame for the death. I get it! And in this case how could she not look to cast blame afar. However, I imagine she never consciously considers that he was vaccinated. I clearly remember the promise from all government scientists that “if you are vaccinated you will not die!” Could her anger be repressed rage at being duped into believing what she was told about the vaccine? Could her anger be repressed rage at knowing she got the vaccine, and it offers no protection against death? Could it be that she got her children vaccinated and now at some level is furious for being lied to? Could it be repressed rage that the standard ICU care killed him? I could go on speculating about her plight, but I do know that that whatever the cause of her rage it is being projected onto the unvaccinated.
She cannot answer the questions I pose nor even look at them. It would be too traumatic to recognize that she has been hoodwinked by people she trusted. I believe that is the plight of many now locked into a denial so fevered that no amount of truth can or will break through. The Times offers those poor souls an outlet valve to vent their rage against a scapegoat -- the unvaccinated — and away from the media and bureaucrats who have fomented that rage.
