The Use of Paradox - Waking up the Masses from Mass Formation One Person at a Time. Part 2
The results from my use of paradox.
In an earlier article on mass psychosis I suggested the use of paradox to wake people up from their trance. Here are some clever cliff notes on Mass Psychosis.
Below are the replies to my proposal. I was shocked that eight-one (81) people recommended/supported my bat-shit crazy idea. I think at some unconscious level, outside their awareness, the vaccinated are beginning to realize that they have been hoodwinked, duped into getting these vaccines. As a result, their growing anger mixed with their continued delusions about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine has become more ugly. All of their animus continues to be projected onto their scapegoat - the unvaccinated.
Paradoxical Interventions – waking people up one person at a time.
It is important to note that you cannot reach the vaccinated either logically or rationally. One idea I have been experimenting with to wake people up one person at a time is to use paradoxical interventions. Some years ago, we used to intervene with families by using this technique. In one sense it is prescribing the symptom. For example, if working with a couple who are fighting all the time you might suggest they do more of the same because surely the fighting is a sign that they love one another, and more fighting will bring them closer together. In fact, you would suggest that they schedule their fights on alternative nights at a particular time, say 7-8 pm and keep notes of the issue raised. Of course, this seems absurd but in fact it makes the fighting conscious and something they now choose to do rather than do it automatically. It brings an awareness to the conflict in a way no rational approach would be able to, and because of this awareness it changes the dynamic of their fighting.
I thought the same thing might work with those who are enthralled by mass formation. Let me give you an example. In an opinion piece in the NYT a commentator said that parents who do not vaccinate their young children are not responsible people nor are they good parents. Here’s my ‘paradoxical’ reply.
I totally agree with you! At our elementary school there is a proposal (widely supported) to make unvaxxed children wear yellow (for caution) wrist bracelets to distinguish them from the vaxxed kids. The unvaxxed will watch the classroom over closed circuit television from another room. At recess the unvaxxed must remain segregated and not play with the vaxxed kids and at lunch the unvaxxed kids must eat together outside. We think the school board will pass this proposal and most of the teachers are all for it.
Although I did get six (6) replies pointing how insane this idea was eighty-one (81) people recommended/supported it confirming for me that the vaccinated have lost their way. I am a bit shell-shocked.
Demmie from Arizona responded:
I absolutely want to get vaccinations in arms, but stigmatizing children for decisions made by their parents seems cruel. Children will quickly pick up the fact that this group is open for teases and taunts that can cause real damage to their peers. If we are trying to promote a kinder, gentler nation this isn't the way to do it.

why not a yellow star? Or maybe a scarlet letter? For kids this is nuts!! The parents on the other hand are the ones who require shaming and you and your scroll board for even thinking that this is a viable solution.

I am pro-vax, but this suggestion is insane

Does this sound a bit like Germany in the 30’s? I don’t think children should be punished for decisions their parents make.
Jeanette from Michigan
Surely you're being sarcastic? I wish you'd made that clear, so as to chide those who pick cruelty, bullying, and shaming, rather than reasonable requirements and consequences. If not, then this is horribly cruel, to suggest we mark children who have no say in their own vaccination status. And I hope you simply uneducated in history related to marking people with yellow. If so look up "yellow star, Jews"

I am all for schools requiring the COVID vaccine for students. Like any other childhood vaccination, failure to vaccinate against COVID should result in parents having to seek other education for their kids. However, I really don’t like the idea of branding unvaccinated children and separating them like pariahs. It feels like your school district is punishing kids for their parent’s terrible decision. Because, at the end of the day, an 8 year old can’t decide whether or not she wants a shot. But she can be bullied and stigmatized for not having one. Meanwhile, her parents suffer zero social consequences. No COVID vaccine, no in-person school, and no “alternative” online model. Sorry, mom and dad anti-vaxxer….either pay for private school at a school that shares your beliefs or home school your little darlings. Make the parents hurt for their recalcitrance, not the kids.
And then as some have suggested people may take this suggestion seriously:
@Deemie. Although I agree with you to a point, but this is a pandemic. The children could be told they are not being punished and are getting the same education as vaccinated kids. However, they should also learn that decisions carry consequences and separating unvaccinated from vaccinated is one of them. It could be an excellent life lesson that their “freedom” loving parents have missed.
Hello Em, Margaret Ann Alice pointed me to your Substack.
I thought you might be interested in this letter I published today (and the use of paradox).

Your proposal was way too timid. Next time, maybe suggest we send armed patrols to hunt down the filthy subhuman vaccine refusers and lock them all up in concentration camps while we confiscate all their property and bank accounts. You know, like in Austria.
