The Democratic Party’s Demonization of Robert Kennedy Jr
It is very difficult to keep up with the daily attacks on RFK Jr. in the corporate media. Thursday’s congressional hearing on censorship demonstrated the hate directed at him by the Democrats, the new party of war, who argue that only the government can be trusted to report on what is “true.”
I grew up during the Nixon era and back then Democrats marched in the streets screaming for free speech rights. No so much nowadays.
At the hearing on censorship, the Dems tried to silence and censor Kennedy. Prior to the event over a hundred Democrats signed a letter asking that Kennedy be barred (censored) from speaking to the committee. In their zeal they missed the irony of their position even when Kennedy pointed it out to them.
The histrionic Debbie Wasserman-Schultz offered a motion to have Kennedy testify about censorship behind closed doors away from the public because as she claimed in her scree that what he might say would be hurtful to someone somewhere. She was playing the good mother here infantilizing anyone who wanted to hear what he had to say and then ‘think for themselves’. She really wanted to protect those watching the hearing from anything that she or by extension the Democrats might find inconvenient or uncomfortable. She used her time to accuse Kennedy of the vilest hate speech without providing an opportunity for him to respond. The Republicans had to grant him that opportunity.
Moreover, she was doing the work for Slow Joe who needs Kennedy discredited so Joe can get the Democratic nomination without having to show up in any public forum that is not heavily scripted for him. Imagine the horror, the absolute horror if Kennedy was doing well enough in the polls that forced Slow Joe to debate him. I am already saving my weekly allowance in the off chance that I can buy a ticket to that event.
The star provocateur of the event was Ms. Stacy Plaskett, a non-voting member of congress who represents the Virgin Islands. She is a favorite of the Democratic house leadership because of her loudmouth. Further, she is without a modicum of self-awareness that allows her to be rude, disrespectful, and of course loud as she randomly disrupted the hearing as if she was having brain spasms. She is the perfect foil for the Democrats all noise and no substance.
The other woman who the Dems brought on board to legitimize their efforts at censorship and rebut Kennedy was Maya Wiley President and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. It is closely affiliated with the Democratic party. She was largely ineffective speaking in legalese and refusing to answer questions directly. There is certainly a smugness to her that suggests she knows what’s best as she proved a strong advocate for censorship of the masses.
The New York Times has been producing daily articles and opinion pieces (here, here, here, here, and here) disparaging Kennedy with smear after smear. Initially the corporate media stuck to labeling him “anti-vax” and a “conspiracy theorist.” However, that did not work as Kennedy polled around 20% in a presidential poll with Biden. Moreover, his likability numbers hover around 50% well above both Trump and Biden.
Panic ensued and the Times, et al. have upped their attacks now labelling him as antisemitic and racist, two favorite labels applied when you are losing an argument. The next level of debasement that will be directed at him will be for some untoward sexual behavior probably put forward by Epstein pal Ms. Stacy Plaskett.
Kennedy has withstood these withering attacks with grace and dignity. He has not responded in kind and continues to make reasoned arguments about the necessity to debate all issues that impact the lives of Americans particularly those relative to war-making and the economy.
His analysis of the Ukraine war as a proxy war with Russia rings true and that clarity threatens the defense industry. He is a real threat to Big Pharma and the medical cartel in his commitment to the health of everyone especially children. In 2022 alone the Dems were bought off by Big Pharma for just over 15 million in campaign contributions.
His call for safety testing childhood vaccines is spot on given that vaccines cause all sorts of short and long term injury to children and adults. He has very powerful enemies who are now represented by the Democratic Party (can you imagine?).
It is a dangerous time in this country with state security operating without any checks and balances and with many representatives clamoring for more repression and more censorship of ideas that threaten the dominant narrative.
But they do not operate in a vacuum as we have witnessed with the recent Covid lockdown where most people embraced and clamored for more restrictions. Even now with mounting evidence that all these policies have failed to include the Covid vaccines people are unable to acknowledged it because it would be an acknowledgement that they were hoodwinked and may have imperiled their own health.
The mass formation that Mattias Desmet has written about is still firmly in place and may never be broken. Kennedy pricks the consciousness of those hypnotized and makes them a tad bit uncomfortable. Below I have lifted some readers comments from the New York Times that underscores a sort of existential fear and primal hysteria that Kennedy represents to them:
1. “How can you trust a person who argues against one of the most verified tenets in science, that vaccines are safe and effective? Would you trust a candidate that denies the earth is round?”
2. RFK Jr is no JFK or RFK. If you want a Trump Democrat, he might be your guy. Another cult leader (conspiracy theorist) in this country is exactly what we do NOT need and just might bring our worst nightmares to fruition.
3. First, the right doesn't hold a monopoly on conspiracy followers. All it takes is a cult-like leader to galvanize them into a movement. Second, RFK Jr., if elected, could be that cult-like leader, only with a greater intellect and more polished veneer than the previous one.
4. I've listened to RFK Jr., and he reminded me of a friend who was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. There are better people to listen to regarding environmental issues who aren't narcissistic grifters.
5. A president is a symbol of much more than his political positions and a gift of gab. He needs to be an evidence-based objective thinker, not a spoiled gadfly. The last thing we need as a country is a liberal Donald Trump--unfit, unqualified, and a spoiled self-entitled demagogue. The only ones who "win" with RFK, Jr. are Americas enemies.
I’m glad that Kennedy is running. He is imperfect and human just like all of us. He’s articulate, sincere, and has dedicated his life to working on issues he believes in. The fact that he is being censored and discredited speaks to the power of his ideas that challenge the corruption that has come to represent contemporary politics. His detractors know that if people hear what he has to say they will be swayed by his arguments and his enthusiasm for genuine democracy. If you have not listened to him, I suggest you start here to familiarize yourself with who he is.
I grew up in the 60’s when JFK was president and I associate him with the carefree days of my youth. When he was assassinated, I attended his funeral in Washington D.C. I still remember that day. I have admired the Kennedy family and read most of the books written about them. Among my favorites is Dave Power’s book Johnny, We Hardly Knew Ye. I am currently finishing Kate Storey’s new book White House by the Sea which chronicles the history of the Kennedys at Hyannis Port.
The Kennedy legacy unfolded in public over decades filled with tragedy some of it self-inflicted. But on balance they were advocates for the downtrodden and their family legacy is a testament to that end. They are guided by a commitment to public service for the common good that continues today in the candidacy of Robert Kennedy Jr. for president.
