More hatred from the New York Times Today
Fear is ramping up among the vaccinated as they learn they have little protection against the Omicron variant.
Attacks on the unvaccinated are ramping up with commenters suggesting harsher penalties and more social isolation. It appears that soon they will be calling for arrests and executions. I suspect that the vaccinated are very worried that their vaccines are failing them. The resulting anxiety must be displaced and the unvaccinated scapegoats make perfect projection screens. This is how regressive groups or mass formation work. No evidence or reason or logic can penetrate the vaccinated bubble and they must continue to displace and project their fear onto others.
The most popular suggestion is to the ration or limit or raise costs for healthcare for the unvaccinated.

Those of us in the vast majority don't want to pay the medical costs for unvaxxed individuals and their long-haul medical costs. Prioritize hospital services based upon vaccination status. No Vaxx card, then you are at the end of the line. Otherwise, set up Covid Clinics that can be mothballed when there is no Pandemic, and reconstituted when there is. Staff it with the Military. Limit all unvaxxed patients who contract Covid to those clinics. Make them pay, out of their own pocket, for all of their long-haul medical problems.

… We need to stop coddling the unvaccinated; charge them for healthcare, increase their insurance fees and deductibles, and let the vaccinated and boosted go to the healthcare front lines.

Unvaccinated people should be treated in Covid only facilities, leave ER/hospitals solely for vaccinated. So many sad stories about vaccinated people unable to receive critical care, languishing in ER hallways, dying while waiting, because unvaccinated people are clogging health facilities. Yes it’s come to this, enough is enough.
Here is a ‘wise’ suggestion!

Perhaps a couple billionaires could establish a fund to give adults something substantial (1 month rent, 2 car payments ???), and maybe $10K toward a kid's 529 account. It might delay one of their day-trips to outer space but they could be recognized as truly feeling humans.
And a counter proposal!

You know that line in our Federal IRS individual tax form 1040? The one that asks if we'd like to see a dollar go to elections? How about adding a line that asks if you've been fully vaccinated for Covid? If the answer is "No," then it should instruct the person to "See Line 37 AMOUNT YOU OWE" where the individual must add, say, $15,000, to their tax owed (with additional tax for any Covid vaccine-avoiding eligible dependents). Knowing how aggressive IRS enforcement and collection procedures can be, my unscientific behavioral hunch is that we see a pretty hefty increase in vaccinated individuals by April 15, 2022.

Mandates definitely work with our stubborn young adult male. Our college age son says he will only get the booster if his college requires it, as he also claimed the initial vaccine. He also had Covid twice before the vaccine was available. He received J and J so a booster appears valuable given the limited research done so far on Omicron. I can’t believe all colleges haven’t mandated it now while students are on break and have time to get one. Chaos will ensue this spring semester!

To the religious I have one question: What would Jesus do? He'd get the jab and mask up.
